FALCON FIELD AIRPORT (KFFZ)Mesa, Arizona
Falcon Field Airport was established in 1941 as a World War II pilot training base. To this day, many historic photo and art installations can be found across the airport campus, commemorating those who trained and worked at the airport during World War II to protect our country.
The Airport features two runways (5,100’ and 3,800’) that can accommodate a variety of fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters and is one of the most active general aviation airports in the country. Additionally, Arizona’s climate provides near perfect flying weather, which is one of the key draws of aviation and aerospace related companies to Arizona’s airports. Falcon Field is home to several established companies, including MD Helicopters, The Boeing Company, and CAE, Inc. flight training, among others. In 2019, Falcon Field Airport was granted federal funding to build two new taxiway exits on the airport’s North runway (Runway 4L/22R), allowing aircraft to depart the runway more quickly and safely after landing. These improvements will also allow air traffic controllers to more efficiently manage aircraft traffic. |
